Hand in to your BTEC PE teacher in your theory lesson

On Your Marks:

You need to research what is  Scoliosis?

Main Task:

We would like you to start your Injury in Sport coursework now, in order to take the pressure off your coursework in year 11.

Attached is the portfolio/assignment sheet – explaining your task and a page for you to complete this work on. Please feel free to attach other blank sheets on this if you need it.

You need to print both the assignment/portfolio sheet to complete this work.

For this initial piece of coursework you need to include the following information:

  • What is Scoliosis?
  • How is Scoliosis caused?
  • What are the signs and symptoms of Scoliosis?
  • An example of how Scoliosis could occur in sport.

Push Yourself:

Push yourself in order to achieve the merit.

Try to find an example of a professional athlete that has suffered with lordosis. How did it affect them?

Add this information to your main portfolio task.

Please also find attached a ‘scaffolding’ sheet, which has sentence starters that may help you to complete this work.
