Online Learning
We are in the situation whereby some students and teachers may need to self isolate as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus. We want to support all pupils, whether at home or at school, to continue to work with purpose and energy.
This guidance document will explain all necessary information to ensure that we can continue to provide an education for our students in this time of uncertainty.
Key Stage Three
Students who cannot attend school due to self-isolation must access their Working From Home Plan. This plan outlines the work set by their subject teacher to ensure they are learning powerful knowledge from home. Teachers will also be setting weekly quizzes in these resources to check that students understand work set. Students should follow their usual timetable from home and access the work provided for each subject in the usual time.
On the day of students leaving school, pastoral leads will be in contact with details of the Working From Home Plan and key contacts so students can communicate with their teachers. We also ask that students focus on their knowledge organisers from home to ensure they stay up to date with homework whilst away from school.
Key Stage Four
Students who cannot attend school due to self-isolation must access their class Teams groups where subject teachers will be providing weekly resources to access. Teachers will also be setting weekly assignments to check that students understand work set. Students should follow their usual timetable from home and access the work provided for each subject in the usual time.
Key Stage Five
Students who cannot attend school due to self-isolation must access their class Teams groups where subject teachers will be providing weekly resources to access. In some cases, teachers will set the room up for a live lesson if possible. Teachers will also be setting weekly assignments to check that students understand work set. Students should follow their usual timetable from home and access the work provided for each subject in the usual time.
Engagement
During student absence, we want to ensure students are engaging in work and continuing to learn. With this in mind, teachers will be communicating with the pastoral team about students’ engagement in resources and quizzes and we will be in touch about the progress of your child online.
