Tuesday 15th December Update- We will be open to years 10,12 &13

14/12/20

Hi Michael - central government have made their position 100% clear: schools, nationwide, need to remain open. We are simply following that direction.

13/12/20

Hi Leanne - give us a ring in the morning. You are not at risk of a fine but we’d love it if your other child came in to school. I have no doubt that some parents are worried but please get in touch and we can talk it through.

13/12/20

Sorry to hear that Leanne - no doubt the Local Authority have made their decision in good faith. We take our lead from the Department for Education which has said schools should remain open wherever possible. We have around 95% of our staff fit and ready to work so we’re open.

13/12/20

Hi Allan - we are an academy and despite good relations with the Local Authority we are not bound by their recommendations. We are open and looking forward to seeing the students this week.

Excellent webinar from . Having previously worked for / with him at it definitely rings true. By far the best professional development I've ever had, both formal and informal. https://t.co/HMVEySLmJc

Welcome

Welcome to Harris Academy Greenwich, one of the most successful schools in London, a school that is providing our students with a first class education and amazing life experiences.  This reflects our personal outlook on life and on education.  We only get one life and we should all use it to make a real difference in the world, to put a ‘ding’ in the universe.  Our role here is to help students and staff dream bigger than they ever thought possible, and to make that dream come true through our culture of success, moral courage and integrity which beats at the heart of the school.

As parents, what do we want for our children?  We want our children to be successful in their chosen profession, in their relationships and in their interaction with the world.  We want them to be happy and to flourish.  We ensure this school provides that opportunity for your child year after year.

And what do we want for our staff?  We want our staff to receive regular, world-class training to achieve mastery of their craft, amazing support to flourish every day, to never burn out, and a sense of shared moral purpose about the best job in the world.  We ensure this school provides that opportunity for staff year after year.

So whether you are interested in sending your child here, or are interested in working here, you can be assured that this is an brilliant school.  We are rather proud of it!
