What Ofsted Says
Celebrating a remarkable Ofsted report
I am very proud to share this report with our families and colleagues. Ofsted judged our school to be ‘Strong’ in all seven areas: achievement; attendance and behaviour; curriculum and teaching; inclusion; leadership and governance; personal development and wellbeing; and post-16 provision, our sixth form. Remarkably, at the time of writing, less than 10% of non-selective schools in the country have achieved this judgement and so we're incredibly proud.
The report is linked below, please have a read. Such strength and stability over time reflects a sustained commitment to providing an excellent education, year after year. Our ambition has always extended beyond examinations, and it's wonderful to see that recognised. We want young people to leave us with door-opening qualifications, but also intellectual curiosity and confidence in their next steps. So, it is particularly rewarding to see the wider experience behind those results recognised too.
Parents rightly want to know that their child will be safe, known and supported, and that concerns will be taken seriously and addressed. I'm glad it's recognised that pupils are happy, that they achieve well, and widely known that bullying is not tolerated.
I am enormously proud of our teachers, support staff, governors and school leadership team as such sustained success is a collective achievement. Their commitment helps us combine high expectations with genuine inclusion, creating opportunities for successive generations of pupils. To our current families, thank you for your continued trust and partnership. To prospective families, I hope this report shows what we value: strong and stable achievement, an ambitious education, and a community where children thrive. Jack Docherty - Principal
