Student Leadership
The Student Leadership Team of our thriving Student council, ensure that all students voices are heard and represented, to play an essential role in shaping and creating a positive and successful student experience here at HAGR.
They head a committed team of students, representing their peers with kindness, hard work, responsibility and ambition. Working collaboratively with their council members, committee leads and staff, their aim is to improve everyone’s day to day academy experience.
Our Student Council members and leaders are appointed through an application, staff character reference and interview process to ensure their suitability in upholding the values and expectations of the academy. Being committed to supporting and representing the best interests of their peers whilst being understanding and sympathetic to the wider school systems and running is key. From regular attendance of council meetings to being ambassadors for the academy at events, our council gives students the chance to demonstrate and develop their leadership skills and qualities to be positive leaders of change across the academy. This is shaped by members being part of one of three committees:
Committee 1: Teaching, Learning & Homework
Committee 2: Student Experience
Committee 3: Events

Meet our Student Leadership team
Senior Lead Students
Hi, I’m Milan, and I’m passionate about representing student voices and helping create a supportive and inclusive school environment. Fairness, wellbeing, and opportunity are really important to me, especially through sport, where football and Muay Thai have taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience. I want to help expand opportunities for students to get involved in activities, improve wellbeing, and strengthen communication between students and staff. I’m proud to have already helped bring change, such as successfully petitioning for sports shorts. As a leader, I aim to listen carefully, support others’ ideas, and turn student voices into meaningful improvements that benefit the whole school community.
Hello, my name is Sean and I am a year 11 senior head student for the student council meaning I work with the other members of the student council and help them to actuate their ideas further improving peoples everyday school lives and making school a place where you can learn and have fun. I enjoy playing the piano and the huge amount of enrichment clubs my school provides us with; my favourite is badminton.
For me being a Harris Academy Greenwich student means trying my hardest and striving for the best grades possible. Every day I try to embody the school values ‘Be kind, Work Hard and Take Responsibility.’
What I love about the student council is the feeling of inclusion it gives the students in the matters that happen inside the school. The student council gives students a chance to express their voices and opinions on what should change or improve. Recently the student council worked together to host a summer fair which was a huge success leading the way for more events in the future. Together the student council does and will continue to make the voice for change heard.
Hi, I’m Risha, and I’m passionate about helping create a school environment that is both educational and enjoyable for everyone. I really value the strong sense of community in our school and believe events play an important role in bringing students together and creating a positive atmosphere. I hope to strengthen student voice so it’s easier for everyone to share concerns, ideas, and feedback, while also helping to expand the range of school events. As a student leader, I want to be approachable, supportive, and a good role model who listens carefully to others. I’m dedicated to making sure every student feels heard, respected, and valued.
Vice lead students
Hello, my name is Sophia and I’m a Year 9 Senior Deputy for the Student Council at HAGR. In this role, I listen to the ideas and opinions shared by the student committees and help ensure that our ideas are communicated to the relevant teachers and staff members.
Outside of my involvement in the Student Council, I have a range of interests, including learning languages, cooking, digital and physical designing, and trying new activities. Some of my favourite subjects are Computer Science, DT & Food Tech, Spanish, and Biology.
One of the main reasons I enjoy being a member of the Student Council at HAGR is seeing our ideas and visions come to life. I also value having my voice heard and connecting with other council members to share and develop ideas together.
Hi, I’m Daniel, and I joined the student council because I’m determined to help bring meaningful change and keep pushing our school forward. I strongly believe in hard work, perseverance, and always striving to break new boundaries. Student wellbeing and safety are especially important to me because feeling secure is the foundation for successful learning. Through my leadership role, I want to empower others to follow their ambitions and turn their dreams into real plans with encouragement and support. I’m committed to helping students flourish while building a culture of resilience, independence, and shared success that strengthens our entire school community.
Hi, I’m Anaya, and I joined student leadership because I want to make a real difference in our school. Diversity is very important to me, and I believe every student should feel represented, respected, and included. I’m especially interested in improving everyday student experiences, including practical things like food affordability, so school feels fair and supportive for everyone. Through this role, I hope to become someone other students can look up to—approachable, helpful, and committed to positive change. I’m excited to share ideas that strengthen our school environment and help ensure all students feel welcomed, supported, and proud to be part of our community.
Committee Leaders
Hello, my names Harry and I'm in Year 9. As well as being a member of the student council I take on a role as a committee leader with Jessica, where we lead our committee, and repercuss our committee members' voices and opinions.
I have many interests, for example Art, Music (predominantly piano) DT, Cricket, and skating - both roller and ice skating - and enjoy many more creative subjects as well as Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry. At Harris Greenwich, the school provides many forms of enrichment from early morning clubs, to break and lunch clubs to after school clubs running every day!
One thing I particularly enjoy about being a member of the student council is one, being able to experience many different viewpoints from everyone and working my hardest to achieve satisfaction everywhere. But also, the chance to express my voice and how I view the school, and working to help better the school and community as a whole!
Hi, I’m Jessica, and I joined student leadership because I want to help bring forward the changes students ask for and support staff with new, creative ideas. Creativity, kindness, and opportunity matter most to me because they help every student enjoy a positive and successful school experience. I hope to improve communication so students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts about lessons, homework, and school life in general. As a leader, I want to be approachable, supportive, and someone people can trust to listen. I’m committed to representing student voices clearly and helping make sure everyone has the best possible experience at our school.
Hi, I’m Seth, and I joined the student council because I want to help make our school a happier and more enjoyable place for everyone. Creativity matters a lot to me because it helps students feel motivated, confident, and engaged in their learning. I hope to support ideas and initiatives that increase enjoyment across the school so students feel positive about coming in each day. As a leader, I want to be approachable and supportive—someone students can talk to openly while we work together to create change. I’m committed to listening carefully, sharing ideas, and helping improve our school community for everyone.
Hi, I’m Jayden, and I became part of the student council because I want to make a positive impact and help share students’ voices to create a better school for everyone. Kindness and inclusion are really important to me, and I want every student to feel safe, valued, and able to enjoy school life. I hope to help create more opportunities, including additional trips for different year groups and a more secure environment across the school. As a student leader, I aim to lead by example through respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour while supporting others and helping bring meaningful improvements to our whole community.
Hi, I’m Areya, and I joined student leadership because I wanted a bigger role in helping both the school and the students. It really matters to me that everyone feels heard and knows their opinions count. I enjoy organising events and gathering ideas that can make school life more enjoyable and inclusive for everyone. I hope to help improve the range and quality of events across the school while making sure student voices shape important decisions. As a leader, I want to be approachable, supportive, and someone who listens carefully to others’ suggestions and helps turn them into real change so every student feels valued in our community.
Hi, I’m Aylin, and I’m proud to be part of the student council because I want to help make our school an even better place for everyone. I really value the wide range of opportunities available at Harris and love seeing the creativity shown by students across our community. Through my role, I hope to help create even more opportunities that allow students to succeed and feel inspired. I want to be a positive role model who shows others they can achieve anything if they work hard and believe in themselves. I’m excited to use my voice to support improvements and help every student feel confident, included, and encouraged.
