Ms. McKay graduated from Queen Mary’s, University of London with a degree in English before joining the Teach First Leadership Development Programme in 2013. While teaching in inner-London schools, she completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership at the Institute of Education, University of London. These formative experiences cemented her belief in the transformative power of education and her commitment to ensuring every young person achieves their full potential.
Currently, Ms. McKay oversees teaching and learning across the Academy, including Initial Teacher Training. She is passionate about developing teachers at every stage of their career and leads through a calm, coaching approach that balances challenge with care. She believes great schools are built on strong relationships, professional trust, and relentless focus on impact.
Ms. McKay’s leadership is driven by a clear moral purpose: securing the very best outcomes for every student. She is committed to developing well-rounded young people who leave Harris Academy Greenwich equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and character to succeed. Under her leadership, she strives to foster a strong sense of belonging, positive energy, and a shared commitment to continual improvement, so that students and staff know they are valued, supported and capable of greatness.
