Veejay Miller

Assistant Principal (Personal Development)

Mr Miller is an Assistant Principal at Harris Academy Greenwich and a highly visible leader who believes every young person deserves more than results; they deserve a future. Born and raised in South-East London, he is proud to serve the same communities that shaped his own journey. He brings an unwavering commitment to high expectations, strong culture, and ensuring that no child is left behind.

Mr Miller graduated from St Mary’s University with a BA (Hons) in Sport Science, and his passion for education was sparked through work at Tower Hamlets Pupil Referral Unit. It was here that he developed a deep belief in the power of structure, consistency, and unwavering adult belief, particularly for students who need school to be a place of stability, direction, and opportunity.

He trained as a PE teacher at Harris Academy East Dulwich Boys, where he quickly became known for building positive relationships through high standards and clear routines. Alongside his teaching, he held a number of pastoral leadership roles including Pastoral Leader, Head of Year, and Head of House, developing his understanding of how exceptional outcomes are built through culture, belonging, and relentless consistency.

Mr Miller later joined Ark Acton Academy as Director of Sport and was part of the leadership team that successfully supported the school’s rapid improvement journey from Special Measures to a ‘Good’ judgement from Ofsted in 2023. This experience strengthened his conviction that transformation comes from aligned teams, strong systems, and leaders who model excellence every day. Following this, he was promoted to Associate Assistant Principal, focusing on behaviour and culture, further embedding his expertise in building calm, purposeful learning environments where students can thrive.

Since joining Harris Academy Greenwich in 2023, Mr Miller has been proud to lead Key Stage 4, driving a culture of high expectations that has contributed to strong GCSE outcomes and a significant reduction in students becoming NEET. He is passionate about ensuring that every student feels safe, proud, and pushed to succeed, academically, socially, and personally.

Now leading on Personal Development, trips, and enrichment, Mr Miller is committed to expanding horizons beyond the classroom, so that every student leaves with confidence, character, and real options for the future. He is equally committed to ensuring that staff feel backed, aligned, and confident, believing that when adults are empowered and united, young people succeed.
