“A culture of high expectations”

Jack Docherty, Principal of Harris Academy Greenwich, said:

“I am immensely proud of our students, whose exceptional achievements have secured an eleventh consecutive year of outstanding results for our sixth form.

“These are not only our best-ever sixth-form results, but outcomes achieved across an impressive range of subjects. From Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics to Sociology, Government and Politics, English Literature, Art and Design and our vocational courses, students have benefited from expert teaching, high expectations and highly personalised support.

“The consistency of these results demonstrates what a strong and stable place Harris Academy Greenwich is for students to continue their education. Families can be confident that students joining our sixth form will enter an ambitious, caring and established community in which excellent teaching, strong relationships and individual support sit at the heart of everything we do.

“These achievements belong first and foremost to our students, whose hard work, resilience and ambition have been remarkable. They are also a testament to the extraordinary commitment of our teachers and sixth-form team, who know their students exceptionally well and provide the challenge, encouragement and support each individual needs to succeed.

“Last year, every one of our sixth-form leavers progressed to education, employment or training. Combined with this year’s record results and excellent university destinations, this shows that Harris Academy Greenwich delivers both outstanding academic outcomes and the support young people need to move confidently into their futures.

“Our sixth-form vision is ‘Making Excellence a Habit’. These results show what that means in practice: high standards, hard work and ambition in every lesson, every subject and for every student.”
