A strong and stable school
Jack Docherty, Principal at Harris Academy Greenwich, said:
“I am immensely proud of our students and delighted that they have achieved another excellent set of GCSE results. This is our 12th consecutive year of strong GCSE outcomes and shows that families can depend on Harris Academy Greenwich to deliver consistently high standards.
“Our results are once again above the comparative national averages, but what pleases me most is the breadth of that success. Excellence is not confined to one or two areas. We have seen excellent outcomes across English, maths, science, languages, humanities, sport, creative subjects and vocational courses.
“27% of all the GCSE grades awarded was a grade 7, 8 or 9. There are some extraordinary individual performances, including ten grade 9s for Jonathan, but today is about celebrating every student who has worked hard and achieved something of which they can be proud.
“We are also particularly proud of the strong results achieved by our disadvantaged pupils. We serve a diverse community and believe deeply that a young person’s background should never place a limit on what they can achieve. These results show what is possible when students are given excellent teaching, high expectations and the right support.
“Our students have shown tremendous determination, maturity and resilience. I would like to congratulate them and thank their families for the support and encouragement they have provided throughout their time at the Academy.
“These results are also a testament to the extraordinary commitment of our teachers and support staff. They care deeply about every student, know them exceptionally well and work tirelessly to ensure that each young person receives the challenge, care and encouragement they need to succeed.
“We are delighted with these results and, most importantly, excited to see our students take their next steps with ambition and confidence.”
